With
so much to do off-season in Majorca
it is a wonder
why anyone goes in high summer, when temperatures are
fierce and
Palma
's vast airport is frantic, writes Cath Urquhart of
the Sunday Times.
Whereas during October
you can partake in a
long walk, spa treatments, several swims and some
memorable meals as well as seeing some of the most
spectacular vineyards in their autumn glory.
The
north west
of the island, offers
the best of walking adventures with the
Tramuntana mountains on your doorstep.
One such venture would be a walk from Deią to
Sóller, a three-hour tramp along a pretty mountain
trail, past orange and lemon trees, with sea views for
most of the way
With temperatures up to 20C during the day and dipping
in the evening this is the perfect time to enjoy
Mallorca
whilst avoiding the crowds.
