MALLORCA
Mallorca is well known as one of the first destinations where mass tourism descended twenty years ago. Extraordinarily, the vast majority of tourism is centred around Palma and the south west coast. By contract, a few decide to stay in the upmarket north of the island, in and around the unspoiled town of Pollensa, a few kilometres from the rugged coastline between Formentor, Cala San Vicente, Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia Bay. A journey inland will take you through simple agricultural areas, with the varied and distinctive aromas of olive groves, vineyards, lemon and almond orchards.
In Puerto Pollensa you will find an abundance of excellent restaurants and bars with the famous 'pine' walk leading from the town around the harbour.
In contrast our small village resorts of Santanyi, Porto Colom, Cas Concos and the town of Felanitx are situated in the far south east of the island with numerous sandy coves lining the pine clad coast. The popular resort of Cala D'Or is nearby offering a large choice of cosmopolitan bars, restaurants and shops. Many fabulous local restaurants can be found in the countryside surrounding the villages.
